The recently published Draghi Report highlights the challenges faced by Europe and the need for a paradigm shift where industry is again put at the top of the EU agenda through a joint action plan for competitiveness and decarbonisation. A new industrial deal should complement the EU Green Deal. This panel will discuss the need for an industrial deal for civil aeronautics & aviation as part of the wider EU industrial deal.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR EUROPEAN CIVIL AVIATION RESEARCH?
New technology is, together with Sustainable Aviation Fuels, a key component of the EU civil aviation sector’s Destination 2050 Roadmap and the global ICAO LTAG goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The European Joint Undertakings Clean Aviation and SESAR as well as other collaborative research play a key role in this respect. This Panel will discuss what is next for European Civil Aviation Research in light of the ongoing preparation of EU Framework Programme 10 (FP10).
