European Health Summit 2024

03 & 04 December

Egmont Palace, Brussels

On the theme “Gold Medal Mindset: Competitiveness and Sustainability in the Tech Age”, the Summit will provide a privileged platform to shape the healthcare agenda of the EU for the next legislative cycle and work towards a resilient healthcare model in the EU. Together with prominent representatives of civil society and the academic world, the business community will directly engage with policymakers to debate key healthcare issues in Europe and beyond, such as digital acceleration, pandemic preparedness, pharmaceutical industrial policy and optimising patient-centricity.

“We need to have long-term sustainability of the budget: demographically we will have an increase in certain health needs. Therefore, we need the industry to provide us with innovative technologies.”

Sandra Gallina
Director General DG SANTE, European Commission

“It’s important to acknowledge that our industry is global and it’s built on knowledge. We must ensure that Europeans have access to innovation.”

Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen
CEO of Novo Nordisk, President of EFPIA

“Most of the innovation is generated in the US, not in Europe. For the patients, this is a matter of access to science and clinical trials. So not having clinical trials in Europe is a huge problem.”

Antonella Cardone
CEO, Cancer Patients Europe

Our mission statement

Our mission is twofold: we aim to bring politics and business together in order to provide them with an opportunity to debate and pursue their common goals, giving a voice to all sides of the debate. The other priority of EBS is to provide European institutions with a platform where they can place their top priorities in the spotlight and advance the development of new pieces of legislation through discussion with a variety of actors and stakeholders.
