Bespoke Events

In addition to the Summits, EBS offers collaborations on a variety of networking events. Over the last 20 years, the European Business Summits developed its expertise in the organisation of exclusive networking opportunities to develop new contacts between policy, business and influencers (academics, journalists and think tanks). EBS provides the possibility to coorganise a bespoke event for your organisation under several formats such as breakfasts, private lunches and briefing meetings. Previous bespoke events include the Roland Berger Parliamentary Evening, the Nordic Executive Roundtable and the SHERPA Academic Lunch.

Press Interview with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola

At the 2022 European Business Summit, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola sat down for an interview with CNBC's Silvia Amaro to discuss a challenging year for Europe. Metsola highlighted the impacts of the war in Ukraine, the EU's sanctions against Russia, and their effects on European citizens and businesses. The conversation also delved into the pressing issues of the energy crisis and the need for improved energy storage solutions, underscoring the importance of resilience and adaptability in the face of ongoing geopolitical and economic challenges.

Parliamentary Evening

In collaboration with Roland Berger and EBS, the ‘Roland Berger Parliamentary Evening’ event took place at the Biblioteque Solvay in Brussels. The event hosted a private dinner discussion with Dr. Angelika Niebler, Member of the European Parliament; Dr. Fabian Zuleeg, Chief Executive at European Policy Centre; and Professor Dr. Torsten Oltmanns, Partner at Roland Berger.

This exclusive dinner discussion, titled “How Smart Regulation can Enhance Innovation and Growth” was the perfect opportunity for the speakers and our distinguished guests to address the role of smart regulation in fostering innovation and growth in the particular context of the political transition from President Juncker’s European Commission to President von der Leyen’s.

Indeed, better regulation remains a priority in the new European Commission. President Ursula von der Leyen, stressed the importance of the ‘One In, One Out’ principle to cut red tape, stating that every legislative proposal creating new burdens should relieve people and businesses of an equivalent existing burden at EU level in the same policy area. The dinner was therefore the perfect moment for all participants, as stakeholders within the field of better regulation, to discuss the current state of European regulations and how they should evolve.

Executive Roundtables

The EBS Executive Roundtables are an initiative by the European Business Summit to strengthen the dialogue between C-level business leaders and top EU policymakers.

The exclusive, by-invitation-only EBS roundtables were held in three countries: France, the Netherlands and Denmark- the location of the first edition of the EBS Executive Roundtable.

Participants are C- and Board-level industry leaders in conversation with a prominent EU leader. Through this constructive dialogue in a closed setting, we hope that policy-makers and businesses can find new ways to collaborate on improving the future of Europe and European business. We have had the privilege to host Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager in Copenhagen during an EBS Executive Rountable.

Academic Lunches

The EBS academic lunches are aimed at bringing academic discussions closer to policymakers. One of the academic lunches organised by EBS took place for the SHERPA project. The EU-funded project on AI was presented by Prof. Laurence Brooks of De Montford University to Members of the European Parliament, representatives from the European Commission, and the permanent representation of Estonia to the EU.
